Facility Setup
This guide covers how to configure a facility (ARTCC) in Landline, including creating pages, setting facility-wide options, and organizing your position structure.
FE Access Required
The features described in this guide require Facility Engineer (FE) credentials. Contact your ARTCC's technology team for access.

Facility Overview
A facility in Landline represents your ARTCC or organization. Each facility contains:
- Positions - Individual controller positions (sectors, towers, etc.)
- Pages - Logical groupings of positions for the grid display
- Channels - Communication paths between positions and other facilities
- Settings - Facility-wide configuration options
Accessing Facility Settings
- Click the gear icon to open Settings
- Click FE Login
- Enter your FE credentials
- The FE panel opens with administrative options
Creating Pages
Pages organize positions into logical groups displayed in the position grid.
Adding a New Page
- In the FE panel, select Pages
- Click Add Page
- Enter the page name (e.g., "High Altitude", "Terminal", "Adjacent")
- Set the display order (determines tab order)
- Click Save
Page Configuration
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Display name shown on the page tab |
| Order | Numeric order in the tab bar (lower = left) |
| Visible | Whether the page appears for users |
Recommended Page Structure
For a typical ARTCC:
- Enroute - Center sectors (high/low altitude)
- Terminal - Approach and departure positions
- Towers - Tower positions within your airspace
- Adjacent - Neighboring ARTCC positions for coordination
Page Size Recommendation
Keep pages to 8-12 positions for optimal usability. If you have more positions, consider splitting into multiple pages.

Facility Settings
Configure facility-wide options in the Facility tab:
General Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Facility Name | Full name displayed in the application |
| Facility Code | Short code (e.g., "ZAB", "ZLA") |
| Ring Timeout | Seconds before unanswered calls time out (default: 30) |
| Hold Music | Enable/disable music when calls are on hold |
Easter Eggs
Fun optional features that can be enabled:
- TMU Ringtone - Special ring tone for TMU positions
- Custom Hold Music - Upload facility-specific hold music
Managing Facility Access
FE Credentials
Each facility can have multiple FE accounts:
- Primary FE has full access to all settings
- Additional FEs can be granted by the primary FE
- Coordinate with your team to avoid conflicting changes
Best Practices
- Document configuration changes
- Test changes in Training Mode first
- Communicate changes to your facility members
- Keep a backup of your position/channel configuration
Facility Hierarchy
Landline supports connections between facilities for inter-facility communication:
ZAB

ZLA
ZDV
ZFW

Next Steps
After setting up your facility structure:
- Position Management - Create and configure individual positions
- Channel Configuration - Set up communication paths
