Transfers & Conferences
Landline supports call transfers and conference calls for multi-party coordination scenarios.
Blind Transfer
A blind transfer sends your current call to another position. You are disconnected immediately and the caller is connected to the new target.
How to Blind Transfer
- While on an active call, click the Transfer button (arrow icon)
- Select "Blind Transfer" from the menu
- Search or select the target position
- Click to complete the transfer

What Happens
- You are disconnected immediately
- Caller sees an incoming call from the transfer target
- Target receives the call as if the caller dialed them directly
Transfer is Final
Once you initiate a transfer, you cannot retrieve the call. Verify the target is online before transferring.

Conference Calls (Merge)
Conference calls allow three or more parties to communicate simultaneously. Create a conference by merging calls.
Creating a Conference
- While on an active call, receive or make a second call
- The first call is automatically placed on hold
- In the Pending Calls panel, click Merge on the incoming call
- All parties are now in a conference

Conference Display
When in a conference, the Active Call panel shows all participants:
- Conference participant count
- List of connected callsigns
- Duration timer
Managing Conferences
Leaving a Conference
Click End Call to leave the conference. The remaining parties stay connected.
Conference Limits
- Maximum participants depend on server configuration
- Audio quality may decrease with many participants
Conference vs Transfer
Use Conference when you need to speak with both parties simultaneously. Use Transfer when you want to hand off the call completely.

When Transfer is Unavailable
The Transfer option is disabled when:
| Situation | Reason |
|---|---|
| Conference call | Cannot transfer multi-party calls |
| Override call | Priority calls cannot be transferred |
| Monitor session | Listen-only sessions cannot be transferred |
| Call on hold | Resume the call first |
Use Cases
Three-Way Coordination
When you need to coordinate between two other positions:
- Call Position A
- While on call, have Position B call you (or call B while A is on hold)
- Merge the calls
- All three parties can discuss
Handoff to Correct Sector
When a caller reached the wrong sector:
- Receive the call
- Identify the correct sector
- Transfer to that sector
Going Offline with Active Call
When you need to log off but have a caller:
- Inform the caller you're transferring
- Transfer to the relieving controller
- Log off
