FE Overview
Facility Engineers (FEs) are responsible for configuring their facility's Landline setup. This includes creating positions, arranging channel grids, setting up consolidation hierarchies, and managing shout lines.
What is a Facility Engineer?
A Facility Engineer (FE) is a staff member designated to configure and maintain their facility's Landline setup. FEs have access to administrative tools that regular controllers do not.
FE Responsibilities
- Creating and managing positions (callsigns)
- Arranging channel buttons on the grid
- Setting up consolidation hierarchies for offline call routing
- Configuring shout lines for inter-facility communication
- Managing page names and facility settings
Accessing FE Mode
From the Login Screen
- On the login screen, look for the gear icon in the bottom-right corner
- Click the gear icon to open the FE authentication dialog
- Enter the facility's FE password
- Click Login

Each facility has its own FE password. Contact your facility's ATM or TA if you need the password.
The FE Panel
After successful authentication, the FE Panel opens in a dedicated window. This panel provides access to all facility configuration tools.

Title Bar
- Panel Title - "Landline FE Panel"
- Facility Info - Current facility code and name
- Superadmin Badge - Yellow "SUPERADMIN" badge (if applicable)
- Logout - Exit FE mode
- Window Controls - Minimize and close buttons
FE Panel Tabs
The FE panel has six tabs (five for regular FEs, six for superadmins):

Superadmin Access
Superadmins have elevated privileges that allow them to manage all facilities in the system.
Superadmin Indicators
- Yellow SUPERADMIN badge in the title bar
- Access to the Facilities tab
- Facilities tab text appears in yellow
Superadmin Capabilities
- Create new facilities
- Edit any facility's details
- Change FE passwords
- Delete facilities (with cascade)
Deleting a facility removes ALL associated positions, channels, and shout lines. This action cannot be undone.
Common Workflows
Setting Up a New Position
- Go to Positions tab
- Click + New Position
- Fill in the position details (callsign, display name, short name)
- Save the position
- Go to Channels tab
- Drag the position from the sidebar to the grid
Configuring Consolidation
- Go to Consolidation tab
- View the tree hierarchy
- Drag positions to set parent-child relationships
- When a child position is offline, calls route to the parent
Creating a Shout Line
- Go to Shout Lines tab
- Click + New Shout Line
- Select the target facility and position
- Configure the display name, color, and pages
- Enable Bidirectional to create a matching reverse shout line
Logging Out of FE Mode
Click Logout in the title bar to exit FE mode. This returns you to the login screen.
